MUTAmarq

This is the main regulatory body for marquee hirers in the UK representing more than three-quarters of the marquee hire and manufacture industry and was conceived to promote safe practices. Today many event organisers requiring marquees for corporate events, or private individuals wanting a marquee for a wedding party, need the confidence that their marquee contractor is MUTA-accredited.

Members of MUTA must conform to a strict code of practice and health and safety guidelines for which they are subject to annual safety inspections both on site and at their base of operation. Their marquee hire equipment is required to meet British Standards for fire retardancy. Members of this association must have a level of public liability insurance of at least £5 million. MUTA is also an assessment centre for NVQ Events (Temporary Structures) and actively promotes training for the industry.

TESA

The Event Services Association (TESA) is an Association whose members provide products and services to Event Organisers and Events generally. The Association is concerned with raising standards throughout the event industry with the objective of improving the commercial environment for its members as well as to provide a focal point for information. TESA encourages a sensible approach for legislation at Government level and providing help and advice to its members. Membership is subject to referral a scheme which acts ensuring that only reputable businesses can be members and can display the TESA logo.
